The lack of manpower did not stop the San Miguel Beermen from notching its fourth straight win in the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference after they tame the Coca-Cola Tigers, 106-91, behind the stellar performance of Wesley Gonzales.
San Miguel Beermen played again without its known stars. Jay Washington added to the casualty as he was not able to play due to back spasms.

Playing solid defense all game long, the San Miguel Beermen showed who’s the team to beat this conference with its unforgiving massacre of the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants (122-103) lead by bigman Dorian Pena. The win gave San Miguel the solo leadership in the team standings with an immaculate 3-0 slate.

Gabe Freeman lived up to the expectations that he is a super import as he helped the San Miguel Beermen demolished the unbeaten Burger King Titans, 114-105 in his debut game.

San Miguel Beermen will sport another reinforcement through an explosive import in Gabe Freeman against the league-leading Burger King Titans.
It’s interesting to note that Gabe Freeman played against Burger King Titans import Shawn Daniels in the CBA Finals. Freeman played under the Albany Patrons alongside Ginebra import Rod Nealy and Coke import JJ Sullinger. Shawn Daniel’s team Lawton-Fort Sill won the championship though.

Playing without its supposed-to-be import Nate Carter did not prevent the San Miguel Beermen from notching its first win in the PBA Fiesta Cup as Jonas Villanueva stepped up in his absence to rip the Alaska Aces apart, 93-89.
Nate Carter was not allowed to play by the San Miguel Beermen management for a lack of clearance from the former team that he played before the Beermen.

It’s simply amazing how Danny Seigle performed in the late part of the Philippine Cup despite the injuries that he was experiencing. He performed really well helping the San Miguel Beermen reached the semifinals and almost beating the heavily loaded Talk N Text Tropang Texters.

With the Fiesta Conference fast approaching, the San Miguel Beermen tapped the services of former Oklahoma Sooner Nate Carter. Carter completes the cast of the imports that will be playing in the PBA for the 2009 Fiesta Cup, which starts on February 28.
