After failing in its first bid to grab the solo leadership in the team standings of the 2008-2009 KFC PBA Philippine Cup, the San Miguel Beermen will again try its hand to do the trick this time with reigning 2007-2008 All-Filipino champions Sta. Lucia Realtors in their 3:00 PM (the game seems to start late) encounter in the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

With Danny Seigle being sidelined by injury, the San Miguel Beermen continued its quest for the championship. His abscense was not that felt as several players stepped up to take the point production chores. Lordy Tugade in particular, picked up Danny Seigle’s spot as he helped the Beermen in their two games last week.

Let us forget first the recent loss of the San Miguel Beermen to the Red Bull Barakos last Saturday. It’s time to have some fun and enjoy what we have this conference so far – a 4-2 standing and a lone second spot in the team standings.

After soaring high with a 4-game win streak, the San Miguel Beermen crashed back to the ground as the Red Bull Barakos humbled them with 114-113 win at the Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental in an out-of-town game.
The Red Bull Barakos dominated the San Miguel Beermen with their sharp shooting from beyond the arc, a fine offensive performance from their bigmen, and a stingy defense that limited inside and outside offense of San Miguel.
