Dishing out its best offensive game in the conference so far, the San Miguel Beermen burned the Barangay Ginebra Kings with its hot shooting from the perimeter, 118-89.

SMB started out strong anchored on hot shooting from the three-point distance leading the Barangay Ginebra Kings 18-6 with 6:07 minutes remaining in the first quarter. Also in that time span, Lordy Tugade already outscored the whole Ginebra squad by scoring 8 points.

Lordy Tugade led the Beermen charge with his 21 points, 3 rebounds on a 5/7 shooting from beyond the arc. Not so much used bigman Ken Bono also contributed bigtime with his 15 or 16 points off the bench. Newly-reactivated Chris Calaguio also contributed heavily with 12 points but only during garbage time where the game is already over midway in the fourth quarter.

Mike Cortez’ absense was never felt as Jonas Villanueva and veteran Olsen Racela orchestrated the Beermen’s play very well. Not scoring much on this game, Olsen was on target not in scoring but in finding open team mates to dish out perfect assists.

Once again, Danny Seigle did not play and his absence was never felt all game long.
